A4A Statement on Dutch Supreme Court Ruling
NEWS UPDATE | July 12, 2024
“Today the Dutch Supreme Court confirmed A4A and the international aviation community’s position that the unilateral cutting of flights at Schiphol was indeed illegal and spurned the good-faith working relationship air carriers have with local airport authorities. This is a victory for consumers, travelers and shippers alike. The U.S. aviation industry stands ready to partner with government and airport entities to address noise or other environmental concerns in accordance with the Balanced Approach, the internationally agreed-to framework which requires transparency and equal opportunity for all stakeholders to provide data and information to address a noise concern through many measures—with flight restrictions as a last resort.”
