A4A’s Rebecca Spicer on Why Investing in the NAS is Critical

Airlines for America’s (A4A) Rebecca Spicer, SVP of Communications, stressed the importance of investing in our National Airspace System (NAS) in an Op-ed for the Washington Times published Thursday.

“From airports and runways on the ground, to shipping centers receiving cargo, to our National Airspace System (NAS) that allows airlines to safely fly across the world this critical infrastructure is relied upon by all,” Spicer wrote.

Spicer detailed the importance of the 2024 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization law to achieve the goal of modernizing the NAS.

“Ultimately, the billions of dollars made available to the FAA in this bill will help ensure the United States remains the gold standard for aviation safety – something we never take for granted and work to improve every single day,” Spicer added.
