Statement from A4A President and CEO Nicholas E. Calio
November 19, 2021
WASHINGTON, November 19, 2021 — Today, on the 20th anniversary of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), we are reminded of the progress made in aviation security over the past two decades. Over those 20 years, the U.S. aviation community has strengthened our collective commitment to prioritizing security and invested in strategic measures to mitigate and proactively address risk. As challenges have evolved, so has our collaborative approach to ensuring security on the ground and in the skies.
Our success in keeping employees, passengers and aircraft safe is the result of deliberate, systematic enhancements to our security posture and ongoing communication with the TSA and other federal government agencies. Together, we are committed to maintaining a robust U.S. aviation security system and ensuring that commercial aviation remains the safest mode of transportation in the world.
As U.S. air travel continues to recover from the impacts of the pandemic, we sincerely thank the men and women of the TSA for their service, dedication and unwavering commitment to aviation security.
