#TheFlyLife Will Profile Industry Employees’ Inspiring and Adventurous Stories
WASHINGTON, March 7, 2017 – Airlines for America (A4A), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, today announced the launch of a story-telling campaign designed to shine a spotlight on the importance of airline industry jobs to the nation’s economy. The campaign will also seek to increase awareness among career-seekers around the rewarding job opportunities within the airline industry.
“Today, the U.S. airlines are financially strong, demand for flying is on the rise, and we’re a growing industry that offers unique, high-paying and high-quality jobs,” said A4A Vice President of Communications Penny Kozakos. “Whether they’re pilots, flight attendants, maintenance technicians, engineers, customer service representatives or meteorologists, our employees are passionate about the role they play in connecting people and goods around the world, and we’re excited to share their stories.”
U.S. airlines directly employ nearly 700,000 people and drive 5 percent of the nation’s GDP.
A4A’s campaign will tell the industry’s jobs story through key economic data that demonstrate the airlines’ impact on the economy, employee narratives showcasing the wide range of jobs within the industry, and easy access to A4A member job postings. Campaign components will also include promotion of an industry jobs-specific website, www.airlines.org/jobs, social media and advertising. The website will be used to aggregate the stories from industry employees and gather relevant industry information and data for Congressional and Administration staff, consumers, analysts and media. A4A also has future plans to launch the first industry-wide career hub and job board

Today, A4A also launched #TheFlyLife, a unique and compelling social media campaign designed to highlight the careers that exist within the airline industry and the professionals who operate the 27,000 flights each day that carry more than 2 million passengers and 50,000 tons of cargo. Bringing to light the adventures that airline employees are afforded, #TheFlyLife will encapsulate individual videos, graphics, advertising and commentaries on A4A’s blog, A Better Flight Plan.
