WASHINGTON, April 7, 2015 – Airlines for America (A4A), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, today named Capt. Jeffrey Miller as Managing Director of Flight Operations. Miller joins A4A from Ameriflight where he is Vice President of Operations.
Miller will provide flight operations leadership and strategic direction to the A4A Operations Council, A4A Airlines Operations Committee, A4A Training Committee and related work groups and task forces. He will also liaise with A4A members, industry stakeholders the Federal Aviation Administration and other governmental agencies to advocate on flight operations issues.
“Jeff’s strong background in flight operations and safety make him an excellent addition to our team,” said A4A Vice President of Operations and Safety Paul McGraw. “As a pilot with years of flight operations leadership, Jeff understands well our industry’s commitment to safety and to improving the efficiency of the national air space for our customers. He begins on May 4, and will report to McGraw.
Prior to joining Ameriflight in 2014, Miller held several operations positions with National Airlines, AirTran Airways, as well as the U.S. Air Force where he ended his 20-year career as the Deputy Operations Group Commander for the 89th Airlift Wing. Miller was a check airman on the C-141 for the Air Force and a captain on the Boeing 717 for AirTran. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy; a Master of Science degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and was the Certificate Director of Operations for two Part 121 carriers and one Part 135 carrier.
