International Air Services Transit Agreement

(December 7, 1944) A multi¬lateral agreement among States, opened for signature concurrently with the Chicago Convention. Under its terms, each contracting State grants to the others “… the following freedoms of the air in respect of scheduled international air services: (1) The privilege to fly across its territory without landing; (2) The privilege to land for non-traffic purposes.” The United States accepted the Transit Agreement on February 8, 1945. see:
