Why We Fly: The Journal Behind the Journey

Every day, U.S. airlines operate some 27,000 flights and safely get 2.1 million passengers where they want to be. Whether these travelers are flying to visit family or friends, see new sites or close business deals, we wanted to find out more about their stories.

That’s why today we’re launching the “Why We Fly” social media campaign.

“Why We Fly” features photos, videos and quotes from our conversations at airports across the country. We asked travelers about the connections that the U.S. airlines enable. We heard tales of first dates at the airport, preschool graduations, business meetings, reunions, new family members, old friends, tales of how people balance work and family – and much more. All of which were made possible by U.S. airlines.
