U.S. Airlines Support the Carolinas Following Hurricane Florence

This month, Hurricane Florence hit the East Coast of the United States, marking the first major hurricane of the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season. The catastrophic storm caused devastating damage and severe flooding to the Carolinas, impacting millions of people and their property.

U.S. airlines worked with passengers prior to the storm’s landfall to rebook flights and issue waivers for affected travelers. Once the storm had passed, airlines worked to resume normal operations as quickly as possible and enacted special programs and partnerships to provide relief to everyone affected by Hurricane Florence.

UPS

UPS announced a $1 million commitment to Hurricane Florence recovery efforts, through cash grants, transportation and technical expertise. The UPS Foundation is committed to providing both urgent relief as well as long-term needs like financial assistance and rebuilding projects.

American Airlines

American Airlines is a proud supporter of the American Red Cross, donating $600,000 and 150,000 pounds of food to the organization following Hurricane Florence. The airline is also rewarding passengers who donate to the Red Cross’ disaster relief in the Carolinas, offering 10 miles for every dollar donated.

JetBlue Airways

JetBlue is proud of its East Coast roots and works closely with the American Red Cross and Americares, encouraging passengers to donate TrueBlue points to help those in need following devastating events like Hurricane Florence.

JetBlue, You Above All

Use your TrueBlue points to contribute to the charity of your choice! When you choose to donate points, they’ll go directly to the charity for their use. All donations to TrueBlue charities are not tax deductible for TrueBlue members or JetBlue. Here’s how it works:
