It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas for Cargo Carriers

Jolly Old Saint Nick and his workshop of elves aren’t the only ones working overtime this holiday season! Every time you order the perfect present online, our cargo carriers play an essential part in making sure your favorite items are on time and ready to wrap! Thousands of FedEx, UPS and Atlas Air employees are working around the clock to ensure the safe and swift delivery of your packages, just in time to place under the tree.

To kick off the holiday season, FedEx announced its plan to hire 50,000 additional people nationwide to help during their busiest time of year. The cargo carrier is anticipating a record-breaking peak season, with volume between 380-400 million packages in total over the holidays, thanks to the uptick in e-commerce and online shopping.

UPS is also forecasting a record holiday delivery season, with an estimated 750 million packages to be delivered within the 25 days between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve. 17 of the 21 delivery days are expected to surpass 30 million delivered packages per day. To prepare for the increased traffic, UPS has hired 95,000 seasonal workers who will help sort, load and deliver millions of packages to people around the world.

And if you’re one of the millions who orders from Amazon Prime, Atlas Air has you covered! Its Prime Air fleet helps millions of online shoppers receive orders within the online retailer’s famous free two-day shipping time frame.

To ensure your package arrives in time for your holiday celebrations, make sure to ship by Dec. 22 with FedEx Express and UPS Next Day Air for an on-time Christmas arrival.

Say goodbye to fighting traffic and crowds at the mall. Let your holidays be stress free this year with help from our cargo carriers, for what is sure to be a silent (and relaxing) night this holiday season.
